This is a very informative film that covers the stories of people affected by drilling in the Rocky Mountains. A split estate is a circumstance where-in the owner of the surface right don't own the mineral rights.

Please spread the word as this theater holds 500 people and we’d like to have all of them filled to educate our neighbors, friends, and family in this area of the potential impact of this fracking coming to our area.

 

 

 

What: Austin Babrow and other community members are working on a community-expanding day event to be held in Nelsonville. Locals and government officials will be invited. The group is currently looking for contacts to fracking activists in the Nelsonville and surrounding communities. Meeting/Protest - State of the 99% Ohio

What: Please encourage everyone in your groups to go to the protest at Governor Kasich's state of the state speech on Feb. 7th in Steubenville.  The speech is to start at noon.  We need bodies out there to send a message to the governor.  Would be great to get groups from all over the state there.

What: We are looking for everyone and anyone in the area (Mohican, Loudonville, Malabar Farm, Jelloway area) to help join our collective voice and network to fight this battle for our health, land, air, water, and land value. We plan on meeting the first Saturday of each month at this same location, until hopefully, we outgrow this small church.

What: A public forum on fracking. The oil and gas industry representatives, ODNR, and other pro-drilling speakers will be there for a “neutral” educational opportunity for the area. It would be nice to have informed people about the dangers of fracking in attendance to hold them accountable with the “facts” they share or the facts that they chose to leave out of their presentations.

Meeting/Protest  Kent, Ohio

 
What: Anti-Fracking  MARCH AND RALLY  The march is only about 12 blocks long and will pause at the Gazebo in downtown Kent, at the corner of Franklin Street and Main Street, at about 11:45, where speeches will be given by Dr. Ted Voneida and Ms. Jaime Frederick of Coitsville.  Marchers will then return to the Kent Stage for hot chocolate and doughnuts. 
Jen Maurer has agreed to provide some great music at that time!

What: TOWN MEETING for all area residents, (not just Kent) to provide information about fracking and to discuss what Kent citizens can do to protect their water, air, and soil. The presenters for fracking information are Vanessa Pesec and John Brovarone, and the civic action presenter is a speaker from another region. (To be announced.)
The purpose of the meeting is to help residents decide what actions they want to take.
